This week’s focus point…The Time Urgency of Experience
Have you ever caught yourself saying any of the following…
“I will wait until I have saved more money…”
I will wait for the perfect time…”
Alan Weiss has often said that you can always make another dollar, but you can’t make another minute. This is an abundance mentality. The problem with putting off experiences is that if you wait for the “better time,” it’s likely that you never embark on the experience (travel, project, career, etc.).
Don’t put off opportunities to experience life where you are today. Finding the money; finding the time; committing to putting you and your family first; and creating a mindset of being in the moment and enjoying your life will reap huge dividends in your attitude and spirit. I’m not suggesting recklessness. I am suggesting open-mindedness, boldness, confidence, and action. Today is fleeting. What will you do today to take advantage of the minutes? What will you plan for to take advantage of tomorrow and the days, weeks, months, and years after?
This week’s quote –
“Power is like being a lady… If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.”
Another outstanding post, Dan – this is a lesson that I re-learn every now and then. Putting something off until “the right time” or until you’re “ready to start” usually results in that goal never being achieved. Putting off a conversation with someone until “the right time” could result in never getting the chance to say it. Too often, we can be intimidated by a goal to the point of watching it slip away forever. Thanks for yet another thought-provoking and timely reminder.
Thanks, Ron!
